Dear Lymm residents and supporters,
As spring unfolds and summer approaches, we’re delighted to invite you to this year’s Lymm May Queen Festival! The theme for 2024 is all about our furry and feathered friends – the wonderful creatures who share our world.
Join us in celebrating all things animal! Dress up as your favourite creature, great or small, or as a legendary animal rights champion. We’ll have fun activities planned for the whole family, so get ready for an “udderly” fantastic day!
Local charitable organisations like the Altrincham branch of the RSPCA, The Greyhound Gap, and The Guide Dogs for the Blind will be in attendance, offering opportunities to learn more about their vital work and how you can get involved.
There will be a BIG change to the usual event location. Due to the excessive amount of rain over the last several months the committee has made the difficult decision to move the entire event into the village. This will allow the field time to recover in time for The Lymm Historic Transportation Day on June 23rd. All of the planned activities, including the revamped Fun Fair, will now be centrally located at the Davies Way Car Park. We are so grateful for the kindness and understanding that our local business’s have shown us. We have to thank the Lymm Rugby Club for providing not only additional free parking but they will open the bar for a cheeky pint while you wait for the shuttle into the village! Rainbow Day Nursery have also kindly offered the use of their Car Park and is a quick shuffle into the village. We remind our visitors to show consideration for our residents along the parade route and the village side roads to ensure they have ample room to enter/exit their homes. Thank you also to Lymm Parish Council, the grant that they have provided us enabled the purchase of new benches and banners, enhancing the festival experience.
On behalf of the entire Lymm May Queen committee, I want to express our deepest gratitude for your continued support. Our dedicated volunteers have poured their hearts into planning this event, reflecting their love for our community. There will be a full day of entertainment in the main arena to include dancing, music, live shows, and of course the Crowning of the Queens! If you’re after excitement there is a selection of fun fair rides for the young and the young at heart to get your blood pumping. All of your favourite foods, treats and beverages will be on offer so come hungry!
